The Electronics

The Astra boasts two individual circuits: one that channels the raw, vintage tones inspired by the original Esquire®, and another offering a wealth of modern sounds. This gives players a sonic time machine that rips between raw vintage grit and cutting-edge tones at the flick of a (micro) switch. We've also installed the Black Ice® passive boost circuit, providing adjustable midrange enhancement without a battery.

Circuit One

This circuit features a classic single-pickup configuration inspired by the 1950s Fender Esquire. With an original '50s-style Telecaster pickup in the bridge position and a 3-way blade switch, it delivers authentic vintage tones. The unique "Dumbucker" dummy pickup in the neck ensures a 'no-string-pull' feel, preserving the classic circuit and single-pickup sound. This setup offers players a true-to-era experience, perfect for those seeking the raw, unfiltered sound of early electric guitars.

Circuit Two

This updated configuration brings classic style into the modern era. It features a bridge pickup and a premium humbucker in the neck position, controlled by a 3-way blade switch offering bridge, bridge/middle, and neck selections. The volume control includes a push-pull coil tap for enhanced versatility, while the tone control incorporates a push-pull Black Ice Boost switch. By replacing the "Dumbucker" with our top-of-the-line humbucker, this circuit expands your tonal palette significantly. These modern upgrades provide instant access to a wide range of contemporary sounds while maintaining the guitar's vintage aesthetic.
